Grandchildren of Tolstoy Gather in Russia
Russian radio Eco added that the grandchildren of Tolstoy discussed the expansion of the International Foundation of Tolstoy's Works in their meeting.
This was the second such reunion and was held on the 150th anniversary of the beginning of Tolstoy's career as a writer.
The first gathering was held at the invitation of his great grandchild Vladimir Ilyich Tolstoy, who is the manager of the Leo Tolstoy Museum located in the suburbs of Moscow.
The Russian daily ****Izvestia**** wrote that most of Tolstoy's grandchildren came to Moscow from Sweden and that this is the first time that some of them from France and the U.S. have participated.
Vladimir Ilyich Tolstoy said that he has asked his relatives to play a more active role in the International Foundation of Tolstoy's Works.
He stated that the main purpose of the foundation is publishing the works of Tolstoy and familiarizing people with the ideas of the great Russian writer and philosopher.
