MILAN -- German international striker Oliver Bierhoff has signed a one year contract with Serie A side Chievo Verona.
Chievo said on their official website that the former AC Milan forward, who played in France for Monaco last season, would hold a press conference in Verona at 1400 GMT.
Bierhoff, 34, made his name in Italy with Ascoli and Udinese before signing for Milan who he helped to the Italian league title in 1999.
The tall striker has made 69 appearances for his country and was part of the German team which reached the final of this year's World Cup where they lost 2-0 to Brazil, Reuters reported.
Chievo, based in a tiny suburb of the northeast Italian city of Verona, exceeded all expectations last year finishing fifth in their first ever season in the top flight and qualifying for the UEFA Cup.
