Exhibition of Conceptual Art to Open in October

TEHRAN - The exhibition of Conceptual Art is to open at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts in October, said the official in charge of the exhibition's secretariat, Abdolmajid Hosseini-Raad.

"Fifty six works from 56 artists will be displayed in 9 galleries and the outdoors area of the museum on October 1-November 25," he added.

Referring to the important role of the media in promoting creation of artistic works in recent years, he said, "The exhibition will have programs about installation, video art, photo art, audio art and multimedia art".

Dr. Kafshchian Moqaddam, Gholamhossein Nami, Ahmad Nad-Alian, Behnam Kamrani, and Hamidreza Souri will be among the jury members.

Making use of latest innovations in creating art, and a high quality of the works will be the main factors in selecting the winners, Hosseini-Raad explained.

Also, a seminar also entitled "Conceptual Art" will be held on the "sidelines" section of the festival. The first exhibition of conceptual art was held last year and was widely acclaimed. The museum is located on North Kargar St.
