TEHRAN -- Iran romped into the second round of the 11th Asian Youth Volleyball Championships by beating Yemen 3-0.

The Iranian young volleyball players who had full dominance over the challenge finished the Yemenis squarely in all three sets, 25-10, 25-16, 25-14.

The Iranian team will face surprise winners Qatar, Japan or Taiwan in the second round.

Earlier Tuesday, Iran had thrown down the gauntlet as it crushed India 3-0 at its first clash.

In front of home fans in the Volleyball Hall of Azadi Sports Complex, west of Tehran, Iran demolished the Indian side 25-10, 25-19, 25-18 in three consecutive sets.
