Rabble-Rousers Not Helping the System: Larijani

TEHRAN -- Those who are constantly seeking to foment a hue and cry are not helping the system when Iran requires actions, not mere words, to move toward prosperity, said the Director General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Ali Larijani.

Speaking at a meeting with IRIB officials in Mashhad on Sunday, Larijani said words without action will not benefit the nation, adding that real service entails efforts made following the line of the Revolution with a view to promoting Iran's development.

He recalled the resistance by the Iranian nation in the face of foreign aggression during the eight-year Iraqi-imposed war and said it was high time that the country's officials abandoned lip service and adopted humility in order to use the available potential to serve the nation.

"Nowadays, Iran's youth are knowledgeable and aware of the latest technology and have taken giant steps to push forward Iran's plans for development toward self-sufficiency," Larijani said.
