Moin's Impeachment to Be Withdrawn: MP

TEHRAN -- The impeachment motion of the Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Mostafa Moin will be withdrawn, said a Majlis Deputy who had endorsed the impeachment draft.

The MP who spoke to TEHRAN TIMES on condition of anonymity said that there are indisputable evidences that the ministry had taken biased political stance based on partisanship and affiliations to a certain political faction instead of exerting efforts to enhance science and research.

He added that the assistants of the minister had been accomplices in the incitement of disorder at university campuses. Nonetheless, due to more important issues, especially the budget bill that will soon be reviewed in the Majlis, and due to the Majlis speaker's emphasis on maintaining tranquility, the impeachment motion will most likely be withdrawn.

The MP assured that even if the draft is dismissed the news and evidence will be passed on to the media for dissemination among the people for their enlightenment about the truth of the matter.
