TEHRAN -- The Managing Director of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Ali Larijani, on Wednesday stressed that religious seminaries have a more significant responsibility nowadays in the face of growing attacks against Islamic values.

Speaking at a forum entitled The IRIB and Islamic Values held at Qom Seminary, Larijani said that through relying on their position in the Muslim world, seminaries can play an effective role in presenting the values of Islam and preparing the ground for introducing true Islam to the world.

"Today, more than any other time, we need the presence of religious authorities, intellectuals, and students in different areas of society, particularly in the media. The presence of religious authorities in the mass media would create an environment of authentic Islamic intellectualism and insight in various fields and would definitely help safeguard Islamic thoughts in society," he said.

He also expressed hope that the seminaries would struggle to set the stage for presenting the true nature of Islam to the international community.
