TORONTO -- The San Antonio Spurs handed veteran Coach Lenny Wilkens his NBA record 1,107th loss, routing the Toronto Raptors 124-98 in Friday night NBA play.
"It doesn't diminish who he is or what he's done," Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich said, adding that had stolen ideas from Wilkens.
Bill Fitch, whose 25-year bench career came to an end in 1998, was the league's previous big loser.
The Spurs raced to a 66-37 half-time lead and were never headed after that.
Malik Rose and Stephen Jackson paced San Antonio, pouring in 23 and 22 points, respectively.
Vince Carter had 17 points for Toronto.
Reigning NBA MVP Tim Duncan sat out the second half after rolling over on his ankle just before the break.
"He's not 100 percent, but he'll be okay," Popovich said.
