Iran-Turkey Trade up 103% in January
Turkish State Statistics Institute says that in January 2003 Turkey had $28.553 million and $146.574 million worth exports and imports respectively.
Some 0.1 percent of Turkey's exports in the year destined to Iran in the month. The country met 3.6 percent of its imports from Iran.
Turkey exports to Iran in January 2003 amounted to $28.448 million and its imports from Iran $57.748 million.
Crude oil forms a great portion of Turkey's imports from Iran.
Iran-Turkey transactions in 2002 rose by almost $18 million to $1.218 billion. In the year under study, Turkey exported $299.691 million worth of goods to Iran in exchange for $918.631 million imports.
Volume of trade by Turkey in January 2003 amounted to $7.213 billion, IRNA reported.
