ISFAHAN -- Remains of 20 unidentified Iranian soldiers martyred in the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war were buried in Isfahan's cemetery on Wednesday to the tears of hundreds of people.
The remains had been unearthed in Iran's southern and southwestern regions, where the former battlefields with Iraq lay.
Hundreds of people, among them families of those missed in action, participated in the funeral of the soldiers earlier in the day, IRNA reported.
Since the end of the Iran-Iraq war, search teams have discovered remains of hundreds of Iranian soldiers who were killed in both Iranian and Iraqi territories.
Iran and Iraq in several occasions have exchanged remains of soldiers. Still, this process was halted after the start of the U.S.-British war against Baghdad.
