TEHRAN- National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC)has demolished four of its oil tankers in the past Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20) in line with renovating its fleet, Shana news agency quoted Nasrollah Sardashti, the company’s managing director, as saying on Tuesday.

The official added that his company also has demolition of two more tankers on agenda.

Referring to the company’s achievements since the implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (which lifted the sanctions against Iran) in January 2016, Sardashti mentioned receiving ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certificates from the global quality assurance and risk management company, DNV GL, in last year as some noticeable achievements of NITC to return to the global markets.

NITC, which operates the largest tanker fleet in the Middle East and has the world’s largest fleet of super tankers, transports Iranian crude and also acts as an independent entity in contracts with foreign concerns for crude oil transportation based on prevailing international freight rates.
