TEHRAN – President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to visit Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, in the last week of March, Trend news agency quoted an informed source as saying.

The visit is due to take place after Noruz festivities which mark the Persian New Year\. 

Iran and Azerbaijan have seen a surge in bilateral ties over the past several years.

Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Iran amounted to almost $229 million in January-November 2017.
