Iran Bags Six World Shito-Ryu Shito-Kai Medals

TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran Monday snatched six medals in the 4th World Shito-Ryu Shito-Kai Championships in Moscow.
Mohammadreza Batavani, Iran's sole representative in men's event, took the top title in the juniors' individual kata.
Female karatekas of Iran, Setayesh Kalantari and Bahareh Akbari, took two golds in children's kata.
Setareh Javanbakht, also an Iranian karateist, snatched the silver medal of this category.
In 11-12 age group, Mahtab Amiri added a bronze medal to Iran's asset as she stood third in kata.
Amiri grabbed the coveted gold in kumite when she beat her rivals from Russia, Belarus, Mexico, and India.
