TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) -- Sanam, a volleyball team of Tehran, is to represent the country in an international event in Kuwait.

The Persian Gulf country is to host the tournament on October 16-22.

In addition to Kuwait, the national teams from Pakistan and India as well as the all-star teams of the Persian Gulf littoral states, Sanam, and a European team take part in the international tourney.

Sanam head Hamid Movahhedi said his side is determined to defend the country's prestige in the Kuwait-based competitions.

"The tournament is so important to Sanam, which is the champion of Iran club competitions," said the official.
