Architecture of Shahid Motahhari School, Combination of Isfahan and Aya Sofia Mosques
Dating back to over a century and a work from Qajar era, the plan and architecture of the complex are based on the design of Islamic-Eastern style.
Built in two storeys, the school has 60 chambers, home to students of religious sciences. The yard of the school has 4 big gardens, 4 streets and a big pond.
Four verandas, 4 tall minarets with beautiful engravings are other beautiful parts of the mosque. All the minarets are built of bricks and covered with colorful tiles resembling decorations of Qajar era.
The tiles of the dome which faded away or were damaged by years were skillfully renovated while beautiful Kufic inscriptions were added as well.
The Mosalla (place for prayers) of the mosque known as Chehel Sotoun (forty columns) is located on the eastern part of the mosque. The place has 40 stone columns.
