Two tons gold deposits so far identified in Torqabeh

TEHRAN — According to the researches carried out, deposits as much as 2 tons gold has been so far proven in Torqabeh region of Khorasan Razavi Province, Jafar Taheri, the chairman of Geological Survey of this northwestern province said on Saturday.

Since the government’s recent policy is the development of exploration activities on gold mines, the Geological Survey of Khorasan Razavi Province has mostly conducted the researches on the regions containing gold, he explained.

Taheri further explained that the exploration activities have been finished in Arghash region and 12 tons of gold has been discovered in this region.

The exploration is currently underway in Torbat-e Heidariyeh, Bardeskan, and Shurab regions, he noted.
