TEHRAN (MNA) -- “Shia in Egypt from Imam Ali (AS) to Imam Khomeini” has been recently published in Arabic by the Cairo-based Madbuli al-Saghir Publications.

Authored by Salih al-Wardani, the book scrutinizes activities and relations of Egyptian and Iranian Shias.

The book also studies the activities of Egyptian Shias, who made progress through the Egyptian religious-political group, Jama’at al-Taqrib (The Group of Rapprochement) and continued their move alongside the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

Al-Wardani writes that the Shias’ activities were expanded in the light of Iranian revolution, surveying the role of revolution in Egyptian movements.

According to him, the book probes the unknown in the common history of Egypt and Iran to discover how the Shias emerged in Egypt and how they began establishing relations with Iranian Shias.
