BANDAR ANZALI, Gilan Prov. With the mass production of plane tires in the Dorood Defense Industry Complex, the country has achieved self-sufficiency in that product, said the complex's commercial director Abass Sayadi-Zadeh here Saturday. He added, "over 80,000 tires of various kinds are being produced in the plant annually and we are planning to enter the international markets." Sayadi-Zadeh stated that also 90 percent of the material used in the tire production is supplied domestically.

He said plane tire is among the strategic products that have been part of the embargo imposed on Iran, adding, "the country has had difficulty in obtaining it in the past." The tire was for the first time showcased at an international exhibition in Gilan. (IRNA)
