Iran’s “Becoming a Star” has U.S. premiere in Chicago
It is the second film of the “Stars” trilogy, which tells the story of Puneh Golkar, who plays only minor roles in movies but wants to become a big movie star at any cost, even if she must abandon her close friend, lose her dignity, or use her father as a tool.
The film stars Ezzatollah Entezami, Amin Hayaii, Andisheh Fuladvand, Reza Rooygari, Ahu Kheradmand, and Asghar Naeimi.
“Stars: Becoming a Star” was screened in the Iranian Films Section at the 24th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran last January. The first film of the trilogy, “Stars: She Was a Star”, was also screened in the Guest Films Section of the 2006 Fajr festival.
Jeirani had previously said that the trilogy is a labor of love that he works on with no thought of commercial success. The last film of the “Stars” trilogy will be “Stars: She Is a Star”.
