“Devotion Symphony” expresses valor of Iranian combatants: singer
“I was selected for the performance in 2004, when the symphony was composed by Mr. (Majid) Entezami, and due to my deep interest in national celebrations, and particularly in the celebration of the liberation of Khorramshahr, I was eager to collaborate with the orchestra in any way which was possible,” he told the Mehr News Agency on Saturday.
Since May 24, Tehran’s Vahdat Hall has played host to the Tehran Symphony Orchestra’s performance of “The Devotion symphony”, sung by Tafreshi.
The symphony is being performed to commemorate the liberation anniversary of Khorramshar, an Iranian port city that was seized and held by the Iraqis for about two years.
The orchestra, which is being led by the guest conductor Majid Entezami, will be performing the symphony until May 27.
The symphony comprises three movements. In the first movement Tafreshi sings poems composed by Masud Hushmand.
The second movement is solely a musical performance and in the third movement music is accompanied by a chorus.
Tafreshi has previously performed in the “Prophet Muhammad (S) Symphony” with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra.
