BOGOTA A gunman shot and killed one of Colombia's jailed cali cartel drug lords on Thursday, pumping seven bullets into his head after embracing him in a prison exercise yard, authorities said. Police and prison officials said Helmer El Pacho Herrera, 47, a reputed billionaire and the target of an outstanding U.S. extradition warrant, died almost instantly as his fellow inmates leapt on the gunman and beat him unconscious.
