TEHRAN -- Iran’s Office for Visual Arts director said on Friday that they plan to hold the Resurrection painting exhibit in Venice in February 2010.
Islamic and Quranic concepts on resurrection have been depicted in a number of paintings currently on display at the Abbasi Hotel in Isfahan.Mahmud Shaluii has recently visited the exhibition being held by Isfahani artists.
“Since people have given such a warm reception to the show, we also plan to take the exhibition to some other Iranian provincial capitals,” he added.
Exhibitions focusing on such themes are supported by the Office for Visual Arts and the office’s plans for holding the exhibition in Venice are in line with this policy, noted Shaluii, who is also the curator of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
He gave no details about the office’s plan for the Resurrection exhibit in Venice.
