Organisers have confirmed that the 2012 Giro d'Italia will start in Denmark. The three-week race will start from Herning on May 5 next year with an individual time trial and will stay in the Scandinavian country for three days. ""We look at this agreement with great pleasure,"" Giro director Angelo Zomegnan said in a statement. It will be the 10th time the Giro starts on non-Italian soil.
