TOKYO The president of Japan's Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. on Tuesday admitted his firm's corporate slogan was confusing customers and said the troubled firm would rewrite its motto next year. Becoming More Nissan, has just not gone down well in the last year, admitted Yoshikazu Hanawa. Customers have not clearly understood the meaning, Hanawa said. A Nissan spokesman said even many staff at the firm were not clear quite what their slogan meant.
The firm has had a tough year, falling into the red in the six months to September, with a parent net loss of 32.5 billion yen (289 million dollars). From the new year Nissan will instead use the slogan: For the Joy of Cars. (AFP)
