Cologne to host Iranian traditional concert in November

TEHRAN – The Cologne Philharmonic Hall (Kolner Philharmonie) will be hosting the Hamavayan Ensemble and Zarbang Quartet, which are scheduled to perform an Iranian traditional concert on November 1, 2015.
This is first time that tar and setar virtuoso Hossein Alizadeh, who also is the leader of the Hamavayan Ensemble, and vocalist Alireza Qorbani will team up with a group to give a concert.Hamavayan Ensemble features Ali Bustan on shurangiz, Saba Alizadeh on kamancheh and Siamak Jahangiri on ney, the Cologne Philharmonic Hall has announced on its website.
Zarbang quartet is comprised of tonbak and daf virtuosos Pejman Haddadi, Behnam Samani and Reza Samani, and santur player Javid Afsarirad.
The two ensembles also plan to tour Europe afterwards.
