TEHRAN -- “Iron Lady”, the 2011 British film based on the life of the first and only female UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, has inspired Iranian artist Nushin Zarnani’s new collection.

The collection, which is composed of paintings, installations and video arts, will be showcased in an exhibition entitled “Iron Lady” at Tehran’s Shokuh Gallery on Friday.

The artworks feature scenes from the film directed by Phyllida Lloyd, which brought Meryl Streep an Oscar for best actress for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher.

Zarnani has begun working on the collection over the past two years to highlight the natural power inherent in women.

The exhibit will be running until April 26 at the gallery located at 19 Amir Nuri Alley, North Salimi St. near Andarzgu Blvd.

The collection is part of Zarnani’s larger series “Fountain Guardian”.
