The third Iranian mobile phone operator, named RITEL, was officially introduced in a ceremony in Tehran on Monday.

Mobile Communications Company of Iran, run by the Telecommunication Company of Iran, and MTN Irancell, which is 49% owned by the South Africa-based MTN Group, are the two current national mobile operators in the country.
