Tehran Quran exhibit promotes understanding of the Holy Book

TEHRAN -- Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati opened the 24th edition of Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition, promoting the motto “Toward Understanding the Holy Quran”, at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla on Monday.
An interpretation of Nahj-ul-Balagha of Imam Ali (AS) written by Hojjatolesalm Akbar Hamidzadeh Givi, compiled in a 12-volume package, was also unveiled during the opening ceremony, Persian media have reported.
Nahj-ul-Balagha was first compiled by Sharif Radi known in Persian as Seyyed Razi, who divided the work into three sections containing the speeches, letters and short sayings of Imam Ali (AS).
The international section is due to open next week with 50 international art and cultural figures in attendance.
The top Quran experts and artists are coming from Iraq, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Bahrain, Lebanon, Azerbaijan and Turkey, and are expected to attend meetings and sessions arranged in conjunction with the exhibit.
A wide range of programs and cultural activities have been arranged during the exhibit, which will be running until June 28.
Top Quran reciters and memorizers together with young Quran reciters will recite the holy verses of the Quran during the sessions set before and after the evening azan.
The exhibition is offering Quranic products, books and artworks with the central theme of the Quran such as paintings, carpet tableaus and Quranic software as well as Islamic costumes.
