TEHRAN – Children from Muslim countries introduce their countries in the poster exhibit “I Am a Muslim” in the 24th International Holy Quran Exhibition now underway at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla.
Children from countries in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which has 57 member states spread over four continents, as well as those from other Muslim countries, introduce the principal cities in their countries, their languages, and their countries’ scenic beauty and religious sites.
“We Muslim children can be good friends with one another. We can cooperate with one another and make a better world,” reads one of the posters on display.
“I am Haban from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Abu Dhabi is the capital of my country. Most of the people speak Arabic in my country. UAE is the neighbor of Saudi Arabia. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi is one of the most beautiful sites in my country,” reads the other poster.
Zahra from Iran also introduces her country in one poster, saying, “I am Zahra from Iran. Tehran is the capital of my country. We speak Persian. Afghanistan, Turkey, and Pakistan are our Muslim neighboring countries. The Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Imam of the Shia, is located in Mashhad. Jamkaran in Qom and Shah Cheragh in Shiraz are other religious sites in my country.”
Project executor Shabnam Mirzeinolabedin, artistic director Leila Belon and advisor Ali Kashefi Khansari have collaborated in this project.
There are plans to compile and publish the posters in a book in the future.
A wide range of programs and cultural activities have been arranged during the exhibit, which will be running until June 28.
