TEHRAN -- Italian Iranologist Gherardo Gnoli (1937-2012) is scheduled to be commemorated during a ceremony, which will be held at the Book City Institute in Tehran on Tuesday.

Gnoli was one of the most distinguished experts on the ancient history of Iran. He was among the driving forces promoting Iranian studies around the world and succeeded in establishing the subject in a number of Italian universities.

Italian Cultural Attaché Carlo Cherti and Iranian scholars Asgar Bahrami and Mahmud Jafari have been invited to deliver speeches at the meeting.

The Book City Institute is located at the Third Alley, Ahmad Qasir St., Shahid Beheshti Ave.
