“Hippolytus” to return to stage

TEHRAN – The Iranian theater troupe Prometheus led by director Farzad Amini plans to restage Euripides’ “Hippolytus” at Tehran’s Hafez Hall on August 11.
“Hippolytus” is an Ancient Greek tragedy based on the myth of Hippolytus whose stepmother Phaedra falls in love with him.
Earlier in June, the group performed the play at the theater for several weeks.
Bahram Abbasizadeh, Elnaz Esmaeilzadegan, Mohammadreza Farzam and Sanaz Purdashti are the main members of the cast for the play, which will be on stage until September 8.
