Parviz Parastui’s famous film dialogues to be shown at calligraphy exhibit
TEHRAN – Calligrapher Sepideh Mobarhan has inscribed a selection of actor Parviz Parastui’s famous film dialogues to be displayed in an exhibition in Tehran’s Shafaq Cultural Center opening Thursday.
Entitled “Leili Is with Me”, the exhibit takes its name from the 1996 comedy film directed by Kamal Tabrizi, in which Parastui played the major role.
“The collection contains dialogues from the films ‘The Glass Agency’ (Ebrahim Hatamikia), ‘Duel’ (Ahmadreza Darvish), ‘Lizard’ (Kamal Tabrizi), ‘The Willow Tree’ (Majid Majidi) and several more,” Mobarhan told the Persian service of ISNA on Tuesday.
“I have tried to choose dialogues that are more rhythmic and more eloquent, since not all types of dialogues would be good for calligraphy,” she said.
She added that the collection will contain about 20 tableaus, some of which are decorated with illumination art.
She also remarked that Parastui has welcomed the idea and will probably attend the opening ceremony.
The exhibit will open in the center located in Shafaq Park in the Yusefabad Neighborhood and will be running until November 16.
