Mohammad Pouladgar has secured his fifth term as president of the Iran Taekwondo Federation, after being re-elected on Saturday by members of the sport’s governing body in the country.

In the election held at the Iran’s Academy Olympic in Tehran, 41 of the 43 present members, voted for Pouladgar, one abstained and one was against.

He will serve as president of the Federation for four more years until 2021.

Pouladgar succeeded Mokhtar Kalantari as president of Iran Taekwondo Federation in 2000.

Pouladgar had announced he would withdraw but took part at the elections.

“I didn’t want to participate in the elections but my friends insisted and I would be happy if nobody voted for me,” Pouladgar said.
