Iran’s Mahjoub wins silver at IJF Tunis Grand Prix

Iranian judoka Javad Mahjoub claimed a silver medal on the final day of the International Judo Federation Grand Prix in Tunis.
In the men’s over 100kg category, Mahjoub lost to Oleksandr Gordiienko of Ukraine with just over 30 seconds remaining.
Both bronze medals went to Russians as 2016 European junior champion Ruslan Shakhbazov defeated Romania’s Vladut Simionescu and Tamerlan Bashaev overcame Tunisian Faicel Jaballah.
After three intense days of competition, a total of 24 countries won medals and a record of 12 nations won gold in the 14 weight categories.
