Iranian movies line up for Winchester Film Festival

TEHRAN –A lineup of 25 films by Iranian filmmakers will be screened at the 11th edition of the Winchester Film Festival, which will be held in the English city from November 12 to 19.
“Bright House” by Ruhollah Hejazi and “The Annoyed” by Mehdi Fardqaderi will compete at the main section of the festival.
"Bright House" tells the story of Roshan, a forty-year-old man who is facing financial ruin. He has invested all of his money into a flat in an endless construction project in a complex. His wife Maryam feels neglected by him, especially when she confesses to having an affair with a close friend.
When she asks for a divorce and gains custody of their six-year-old daughter, Roshan realizes that he has hit rock bottom. However, determined to prove himself and disprove his wife's accusations, Roshan resolves to turn his life around and take control of his future.
“The Annoyed” is about three directors trying to make a film about the social problems of violence and abuse against women and executions.
The lineup also includes Iranian short films “Erosion” by Maryam Qasemi “Falling Up” by Maryam Bakhtiari, “Gray House” by Bahram Afshari, “Lady” by Fardin Ansari and “Malakout” by Farnush Abedi.
“Mirage” by Nazanin Qanbari Mohammadi, “Mixed” by Mina Sadat Hosseini, “No” by Kavus Aqai, “Pregnant” by Golnaz Jamshid, “REM” by Mohammadreza Yarikia, “Slight Pain” by Puya Nabi and “Somewhere to Stay” by Amirhossein Hatami will also go on screen at this section of the festival.
Winchester Film Festival provides a platform for emerging and established directors, writers, and actors to showcase their work and connect with industry professionals. Alongside film screenings, the festival also organizes talks, workshops, and networking events that offer opportunities for learning and collaboration.
