TEHRAN President Mohammad Khatami has not met Madeleine Albright, a source close to Khatami told the TEHRAN TIMES. Cracking jokes, he said, Khatami will not meet a person whom he would be afraid of meeting even in his dreams.
This is only imagination of U.S. officials and the trick of Western media to create attraction, he added.
A DPA dispatch yesterday said, "Iranian President Mohammad Khatami met Tuesday with U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, prompting U.S. Secretary General Kofi Annan to hail a breakthrough in bilateral relations between the two countries." "The ice has been broken and (they are) moving in the right direction," the DPA quoted Annan as saying.
