KUALA LUMPUR Iran on Monday was one of the countries selected to sit on the guidelines committee for Hajj guidance at the First-ever International Conference on Hajj Guidance held here.
The committee is to study problems of people planning to perform the Hajj. Other countries included in the committee are Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The aim of the committee will be to recommend programs which will lead to an awareness of the importance of the Hajj.
It would also include workshops on training and communication.
The committee will learn from Malaysia's successful experience in sending Hajis to the holy land.
It is expected to complete its task before the start of the next Hajj season in 1421 and will study the outcome of the workshop during the Hajj period.
