Iran CP football program suspended for one year

TEHRAN - The International Federation of CP Football (IFCPF) has confirmed the conclusion of disciplinary and compliance processes involving the CP Football programs of Iran, Brazil, and Ukraine, following investigations conducted in line with IFCPF regulations and international classification standards.

The outcomes, which have been formally communicated to each federation, include sanctions and mandatory corrective measures designed to strengthen the integrity of classification, ensure fair competition, and uphold the rights of eligible athletes.

IFCPF’s actions are grounded in a clear principle: all players deserve a clean, fair, and credible sport. Classification integrity is fundamental to CP Football, ensuring that competition outcomes are determined by skill, preparation, and performance, not by manipulation or misrepresentation.

In each case, IFCPF followed due process, reviewed evidence, and applied proportionate sanctions alongside conditions aimed at reform, education, and long-term compliance.

The Iran CP Football program has been suspended from IFCPF competition for a period of one year, effective immediately. The suspension is accompanied by mandatory corrective conditions, including governance review, education requirements, reclassification of players, and enhanced IFCPF oversight prior to any return to competition. Previous sanctions issued in August 2025 will also remain in place.

“We learned about the one-year suspension of Iran’s national football team through the news published on the website of the International Federation of CP Football. Otherwise, up to today, our association has not received any letter or official notification in this regard, Javad Moghaddasi, head of Iran CP association, said.

“Of course, I do not know whether the Iran's Veterans and Disabled Sports Federation has received any correspondence from the International Federation of CP Football or not. As far as our association is concerned, we have not received any letter,” he added.
