Milad Tower to Be Completed With Installation of 120-Meter Antenna Mast, Head Structure
The Technical Manager of the Milad Tower project, Mohammad Rahmani, added that the 435-meter tower has been under construction since 1995. The project is being organized and financed by the Tehran Municipality.
Iranian and foreign engineers are completing the project.
Some 500 billion rials have been allocated to the project, 180 billion of which has been spent thus far, he said.
The tower will be used for television broadcasting, telecommunications and meteorological forecasts. Several facilities, like establishing restaurants, would be provided for tourists visiting the tower.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and the Telecommunications Company of Iran (TCI) will rent areas of the tower from the municipality.
Rahmani added that officials would welcome domestic and foreign investment for the construction of other commercial structures next to the tower.
