TEHRAN - The Iranian Dubber Jaleh Olov believes that Iranian dubbing which used to be introduced as the best dubbing in the world has now been far form its top days.

She added that immigrating of some successful dubbers to the foreign countries and the demise of some of the masters of dubbing, has caused fall in this art.

Olov who has worked in this field for almost 50 years continued that despite leaving some of the veterans of this art, there is still no replacement who can do the job as well as the veterans did.

The few number of the dubbers in TV and cinema is not enough and although the number of the dubbed films has increased, the quality has decreased, she mentioned.

She stated that the standard time which takes for dubbing a film is almost a month while in the present situation a film should be dubbed in one week to be either aired or screened.

A dubber is a sitting actor or actress, she said adding that a good and successful dubber should feel the feelings and behaviors of an actor or actress and reflect it in her/his voice.

The dubber also mentioned that the word space of different languages comparing with the Persian language is the other difficulty of dubbing and a good dubber should try to lessen this space as much as he/she can.

Jaleh Olov has been working in different artistic fields for over 52 years.
