Shahnameh's Rostam & Sohrab in Milad Hall

TEHRAN - The great Armenian-Iranian musician and conductor Loris Tjeknavorian will conduct the opera of Shahnameh's Rostam and Sohrab with Austria Symphony Orchestra soon.

In a press conference held here yesterday he said, "I began writing the opera of Rostam and Sohrab since many years ago and several renowned Iranian musicians such as Khaledi, Ebadi and Tehrani helped me a lot to understand the story of Rostam and Sohrab written in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh.

"It was once performed in Austria and was highly acclaimed. The due performance is more complete comparing with the previous one".

"The members of the group consists of 125 musicians from Austria, France, Armenia, Netherlands and Estonia.

"Anthony Heidweiler from Netherlands performs Rostam, Juhann Tralla from Estonia performs Sohrab, and Darya Dadvar from France performs Tahmineh (Shorab's mother)".

The other two singers are from Armenia, he said.

The opera is to be performed in Milad Hall located in Tehran Permanent Ground on August 22,23,24,25.
