TEHRAN -- The 1st Exhibition of Nature, Mountain and Mountain Climbing, with the aim of promoting culture of nature, friendship, growth, and development of mountain climbing was inaugurated at Fakhreddin As'ad Gorgani Hall in Gorgan, Golestan Province.

During the inaugural ceremony, governor general of Golestan Province said that mountain climbing is a sport that encourages attitude of resistance against hardship. Mohammad Hashem Mohaimani added, "Officials should facilitate the grounds for the development and promotion of the sport."

He said that appraising mountain and nature, mountain sport publicity, and encouragement of athletes in the field are the main objectives of the event.

The exhibition includes photographs, paintings, mountain climbing equipment, rock climbing, as well as educational materials.

The exhibition ended on Friday, December 20.
