TEHRAN (PIN) – Managing director of National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) said that a plan for early production from Azadegan oilfield has progressed 60 percent.

Seifollah Jashnsaz added that operations in the field include the completing of six existing wells, laying 90km oil pipeline and 100km main pipeline, and constructing of two separators.
The official said that five wells have been completed and are ready for exploitation and their production capacity stands at 3,000-4,500 barrels per day.
Jashnsaz added that another well is under repair and will be ready in 2-3 months.
He added that construction of main and flow pipelines as well as northern and southern separators has started simultaneous with completion of wells.
“We are considering two options to raise daily production ceiling to 50,000 barrels. The first option includes development studies up to a capacity of 50,000 barrels per day by taking advantage of the existing facilities. The second option is construction of an independent production and desalting plant with daily capacity of 50,000 barrels per day,” he added.
The official said that the second option would need drilling 12 new wells, construction of production and sweetening plants and production of 100km 16-inch pipeline from Azadegan oilfield to Ahvaz booster and the cost has been estimated at 2.28 billion rials.
He expressed hope that once preliminary studies are over and a suitable option is chosen, early production from Azadegan oilfield would be realized.
NISOC head added that the plan’s main advantages include optimal use of past investments, obtaining up-to-date information about the reserves, increasing production and raising Iran’s revenues.
NISOC’s active fields cover about 4,000 square kilometers in Khuzestan, Fars, Bushehr, as well as Kohkiluyeh-Boyerahmad provinces, producing crude oil, natural gas, and gas condensates. They are currently yielding 3.2 million barrels of crude oil on average daily.
