Poster biennial to focus on Islamic civilization

TEHRAN -- The third International Poster Biennial of the Islamic World will be held on the theme of Islamic civilization from October 18 to November 18 in Tehran.
This edition of the biennial will focus on the typography of Persian and Arabic alphabets and their role in graphic designs.The biennial will be held in different sections including poster, book cover, logo and typography. Aidin Aghdashlu, Mostafa Asadollahi, Ebrahim Haqiqi, Mostafa Gudarzi and Habibollah Sadeqi are the members of the jury.
The history of formation of alphabet, their different types and the situation of Persian and Arabic typography in today’s aesthetic and graphic designs will be reviewed during several meetings on the sidelines of the biennial.
The biennial is cosponsored by the Iranian Academy of Arts, Tehran’s Saba Art and Cultural Center and the Palestine Museum of Contemporary Arts.
