Top intl. musicians to participate in Tehran festival

TEHRAN – Dozens of musicians and musical groups from around the world will take part in the 1st Tehran Contemporary Music Festival (TCMF), which will be held from April 22 to 29.

The festival organized by Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance will be held at Rudaki Hall, the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the Iranian Artists Forum, the executive director of the festival, Ehsan Tarokh, told the Persian service of MNA on Saturday. 

Prominent scholars, including Rezo Kiknadze from Georgia, Stanislaw Suchora from Poland and Neil van der Linden from the Netherlands, are scheduled to deliver lectures on April 22 and 23.  

Pianist Martyna Kosecka and cellist Aleksandra Pykacz, both from Poland, and pianist Geert Callaert and bassoonist Bert Helsen, both from Belgium, will perform solos. 

The Stockholm Saxophone Quartet from Sweden and Opia Ensemble from Poland/Romania are also among the groups to perform during the event. 

Some Iranian musicians, including Mehdi Behbudi, Mohammadreza Govahi, Sina Shoaei, and Siavash Sojudi are scheduled to perform during the festival.
