TEHRAN – Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has said Iran is confident that the Syrian leadership and people will be able to overcome the current events. 

 

He made the remarks during a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem on February 8, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported.

 

Muallem briefed the Iranian envoy on the wide-ranging reforms being undertaken in Syria in the face of “ferocious attack … by terrorist groups backed by foreign parties.”
