Iran’s CORC meets French delegation

TEHRAN - Hossein Shirzad, Deputy Minister and Head of the Central Organization for Rural Cooperatives of Iran (CORC), met with the President and members of the French National Federation of Seed Maize and Seed Sorghum on Saturday in Tehran.

In the meeting, Shirzad explained the duties and functions of the CORC organization, and proposed avenues of cooperation between the two organizations.

The CORC network, as the country's largest supplier of food and agriculture, has a strong desire to establish supply chains and in light of its legal structure is prepared to receive project funds, Shirzad explained.
The CORC receives project funds in the following ways:
- Companies and unions
- National agricultural funds
- State agricultural banking credit  
- Joint domestic investment
Shirzad suggested collaboration avenues between the two countries organizations as following:
- Joint investment
- Collaboration in the development of internal and external chains
- Agricultural contracts
- Marketing, Branding and Manufacturing Participation
- Creating a systematic way to connect Iran's production and supply chain to the global market
- Transfer of various and advanced technologies across Iranian agricultural chains
