Iranian veteran footballer Mansouri dies on pitch

TEHRAN – Former Esteghlal Ahvaz player Shapoor Mansouri died on the pitch after a heart attack during a veteran game on Wednesday.

Mansouri was taken to Ahvaz’s Imam Khomeini Hospital but he had already died of the heart attack.

The former player of Iran’s Army Football Team will be laid to rest on Thursday.

The Tehran Times staff offer heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family.
