U.S. gallery to review Iranian films

TEHRAN – A lineup of Iranian films will be screened during a program to review Asian cinema being organized by Arthur M. Sackler Gallery in Washington, the gallery has recently announced.

A number of Japanese movies will also go on screen in the program that will be held in January and February 2019, the official website of the center has announced.

“As I Lay Dying”, also known as “The Graveless”, by Mostafa Sayyari, “Sly” by Kamal Tabrizi, “A Man of Integrity” by Mohammad Rasulof and “Feast of Sorrow” by Puria Azarbaijani are among the Iranian films.

“3 Faces” by Jafar Panahi, “Wednesday, May 9” by Vahid Jalilvand, “Final Whistle” by Niki Karimi and “Pig” by Mani Haqiqi will also go on screen.

The screenings will be followed by review sessions, which are scheduled to be attended by directors, actors and film scholars, including Niki Karimi and Puria Azarbaijani.
