TEHRAN – Italian writer Domenico Starnone’s 2014 novella “Ties” has recently been published in Persian by Vara Publications in Tehran.

Yalda Belarak has rendered “Ties” into Persian from the English translation of the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri.

The book tells the story of Vanda and Aldo, a couple who are trapped in their routine life. Their marriage is a cracked vase that may shatter at the slightest touch.

The English version of the book was published in 2017.

The book is also the winner of the Bridge Prize for Best Novel 2015.
